Facilities - About Us
Camp Mendocino is located 160 miles north of San Francisco, nestled in a redwood forest in Mendocino County, midway between Willits and Fort Bragg. The Camp is spread over 2,000 acres with the beautiful Noyo River running through the middle. The famous Skunk Train Railroad runs between Willits and Fort Bragg, stopping at Camp Mendocino.
The Camp features a first-rate kitchen and dining hall with a large fireplace; a baseball field and a second grass field that are both used for multiple purposes; basketball courts; a challenge course that includes a climbing wall, 600-foot zip line and multi-element ropes course; a beautiful amphitheatre under a canopy of redwood trees; the Noyo River used for swimming and boating; numerous hiking trails and remote campsites; a nature center; arts & crafts center; photography center; train dock and the Discovery Depot; and horse stables.
As an outdoor education and environmental awareness program, Camp Mendocino is focused entirely on the character and leadership development of kids from disadvantaged circumstances. All proceeds from rentals are reinvested in the Camp program and facilities.
Dining and Meeting:
The Camp features a first-rate kitchen and dining hall, perfect for the summer program and for rentals during the off-season. The dining hall features a large fireplace. A lodge room off the dining hall, called “The Extension”, also has a large, beautiful fireplace and is perfect for groups of up to 35 people to meet and dine in the winter months.
Lodging:
The Camp has two lodges that can comfortably sleep a total of 45 people. Each room has its own wood-burning stove and sleeps between two and four people. There are nine rooms in the PK Lodge and four rooms in the Callander Lodge. The Camp has other winterized sleeping accommodations a five-minute walk from these lodges. In the warmer months, May 1 to October 15, Camp has open-air cabins that can sleep up to 250 people. Click here to see photos of our Camp lodges.
