Programs
We offer a number of programs which can be tailored to your group experience. Our Outdoor Education Program is designed specifically for 3rd to 6th graders in the California State School system. We also have several packages for Retreat Groups from a fully run Camp Retreat to a simple rental of the property. If there are other programs that you would like to see offered, please call, as we are happy to discuss them as possible options.
Outdoor Environmental Education Program
Our Outdoor Education focuses on exploring eco-systems, conservation, and the flora and fauna of the Redwood forest in Mendocino County. We strive to give students a hands on education that is tailored to your students' needs. We have designed our programming for students between 3rd and 6th grade, but can be modified for students of any age.
Interactive Nature Hikes
Students are taken through the beautiful Redwood forest that surrounds the Camp and exposed to the flora and fauna of Mendocino. Guided by trained instructors, students will get a hands on nature experience. Our hikes can range from a thirty minute light hike to a two hour journey.
The Challenge Course
The challenge course consists of a seven-element high ropes course, zip line, climbing wall, and low elements (initiative games and team building activities). The challenge course is a fantastic program that teaches kids and adults to set goals, manage and overcome their fears, support their peers, work as a team and push themselves physically. This program helps build self-esteem as participants accomplish things they never thought they could. Note: Camp staff must facilitate this program.
Climbing Wall
A 35-foot climbing and rappelling tower can be used as a separate activity or as an element of the entire challenge course. Participants are on what's known as dynamic belay, a system which allows members, in addition to pushing themselves physically, to face and hopefully overcome their fears.
Seven-Element High Ropes Course
For 6th grade students and older, this is an extensive and intensive session which takes place 30-feet above the ground. This is an experience that kids and adults will remember for a lifetime.
Zip Line
The zip line is tied into the seven-element high ropes course but can be used as a stand alone activity if desired. The zip line is over 600 feet long, zipping between trees and crossing high over the Noyo River.
Low Rope Elements (initiative games and team building activities)
Camp has many low elements that challenge teams to work together to achieve objectives. Communication, planning, leadership, and problem solving are key lessons learned.
General Camp Activities
Archery
Learn basic archery skills, team building, and good sportsmanship.
Swimming
In the warmer months swimming and boating in the Noyo River are popular activities. Note: Lifeguard will be provided.
Arts & Crafts
Arts & Crafts allows our campers to utilize their creative side. The programming ranges from painting and sculpture to macrame, campers are encouraged to tap into their creativity. Each camper can create something that is special to them.
