SWIMMING IN
THE NOYO RIVER

HIGH ROPES CHALLENGE CORSE

Youngest campers (under age 10 will participate in ground-level team-building games and rock climbing. Middle-age campers (ages 11-12) will also get the chance to try our mid-height ropes course designed just for them. Our oldest campers (13-17) will have access to the full High Ropes Course and Zip Line. You will have the option to opt out of Camp Mendocino’s challenge course on the application.

SWIMMING

Swimming Activities will be preceded by a swim test. Campers can choose to take or retake their swim test at any point during the session. If campers are confident swimmers, they get a corresponding wristband. This notifies Camp staff and lifeguards that the camper is safe to be in the deep parts of the river. If campers are learning to swim and not yet confident, they will also get a wristband. This lets staff know that these campers should be in the shallow parts of the water or wearing a life vest.

BIKING

If a camper is unstable on a bike, does not know how to ride, or is not confident with their skills, that’s okay! Camp staff will take time to practice one-on-one or in a small group before going on trails. Many campers learn to ride their first bike at Camp!
